This course introduces the sources of Islamic legislation to the students who are also made familiar with the importance of converting Sharia rulings into laws in a way that meets the requirements of the present age. The role of Ijtihaad as a means of establishing the flexibility of the Sharia forms part of this course; too, since it is manifested in the way rulings and regulations are introduced with regard to modern issues. The course also covers judicial issues and discusses the role of jurisprudential rules relevant to the justice system in Islam.
